“I want someone to manage my investments.”

Rosa has money she wants invested and looked after. She does not want to choose companies or approve decisions one by one. She wants a professionally managed portfolio, and an adviser she can talk to about it.

Rosa is an illustration, not a client. Nothing on this page is a recommendation or a forecast.

First, suitability. Synergy’s adviser establishes what the money is for, when Rosa might need it and what she could stand to lose — and whether a managed portfolio suits her at all. Sometimes the answer is no, or only for part of the money.

Then the recommendation. If it suits her, Synergy recommends the Managed Portfolio at the right level of risk for her, and sets out what it involves and what it costs, in writing, before she commits.

Then the management. A separately regulated discretionary investment manager makes the day-to-day investment decisions, inside a written mandate.

Synergy remains her adviser — the person she talks to about her circumstances, her objectives and whether the arrangement still suits her. Once a year we confirm that with her.

“Do I have to approve every investment?”

No.

That is the point of the arrangement. The decisions inside the portfolio are the manager’s. The decision to delegate, and any decision about her money outside it, remain hers, with Synergy’s advice.

If that is how you would rather invest, start with a conversation.

If Managed Portfolios is suitable for you, a separately regulated discretionary manager makes the day-to-day investment decisions, within a written mandate, and Synergy remains your adviser. Delegation is recommended only where advice concludes it suits you. Investments can fall as well as rise.
