“I want most of my money managed — and a part I still invest myself.”
Pat wants the bulk of his investments looked after professionally, without approving every decision. But he also follows a few companies of his own, and wants to keep making those calls — with Synergy’s research and advice behind him. He did not want two firms, or two relationships, to do it.
Pat is an illustration, not a client. Nothing on this page is a recommendation or a forecast.

Meet all seven →Most of it, managed
Most of Pat’s investment capital sits in a Managed Portfolio. Synergy recommends one suited to him, a discretionary manager runs and rebalances it, and Synergy stays his adviser — reviewing that it remains suitable as things change. He does not approve each decision inside it. That is rather the point of it.
Some of it, his own
The rest, Pat keeps for individual companies he wants to follow and decide on himself. Synergy researches them, brings him ideas, tests his, and makes a personal recommendation where it helps. The decision to act is his.
It is one relationship, with one adviser who understands the whole picture — the part that is managed, and the part Pat runs himself.
How much sits in each is Pat’s to decide, and it can change over time. Synergy advises him on both, keeps them working together, and is someone he can call.
Managed Portfolios are provided by recommendation, following a suitability assessment; the discretionary management is carried out by a separately regulated manager under its own responsibility. Investment Advice is a regulated advisory service delivered by the investment adviser against your circumstances. Research is not personal advice. Investments can fall as well as rise.
